TWG Staff Obtain Mediation Certification

Community mediation is designed to strengthening relationships and building connections between people and groups, and to create processes that make communities work for everyone.  Anita Garrett recently completed 24hours of training to enhance skills that will aid in her work as a community mediator.  Working as educators and community liaisons with both public and private-sector clients,” states Anita Garrett, Vice President of TWG, “we've found that one of the most important secrets to our success has been our ability to be 'multi-lingual' and share information in a manner that can transcend sector, profession, ethnicity or geography. In order to truly build capacity, mediation skills allow us to help others find their own voices.”

Weathers Group Joins International Leaders

Charles Weathers has been asked to serve on the national Independent Sector’s Advisory Group on Nonprofit Effectiveness to discuss a new initiative to develop a common language and framework to help organizations better articulate their short-term objectives and understand the importance of long-term goals and strategies in order to have lasting, meaningful impact. As president of The Weathers Group, Weathers brings to the National Council nearly 20 years of experience in a variety of roles, from university advisor and senior staff member to program volunteer and board member. The national council will focus on establishing organizational strategies and assessments.
